Chirp Cards is a speech therapy app made by Prosper Donkey. Speech-language pathologists and teachers use it to make picture decks and play them as games with students. This page explains what it keeps and why.
Adults make an account with Google or with an email address and a password. Students never sign in and never get accounts.
When you sign in with Google, Chirp Cards receives your name and email address. If you sign up with an email address, it keeps that address, and your password is stored securely by Amazon Cognito, so we never see it. Your email is used only to sign you in, send your sign-up code, and keep your work in your own account.
It keeps the decks, pictures and voice recordings you make. They’re stored privately on Amazon Web Services in the United States, and only you can see them, unless you share a deck with a link.
Chirp Cards doesn’t collect or keep students’ names or anything else about students. Names or initials typed in to play stay on the screen and aren’t saved, and neither are scores. Please keep students’ faces out of deck photos.
Anyone with a share link can play that one deck until the link ends or you turn it off. Nothing about the person playing is saved.
To read cards aloud in a natural voice, the card’s text is sent to Amazon Polly, which turns it into speech.
If you send a deck to another teacher, anyone with that link can preview it, and anyone who signs in can add a copy to their account, with its pictures and recordings. Copies they’ve already added stay with them, even after your link ends or you turn it off. Please check a deck for student names and photos before you send it.
A small test group can ask AI to draft a deck. The request they type and a list of picture words go to Anthropic, the company behind Claude, to write the draft. Photos, recordings and anything about students aren’t sent. Please don’t type student names into a request.
Chirp Cards uses only your basic Google profile (name and email) to sign you in. It doesn’t sell, share or use that information for anything else. Chirp Cards’ use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
There are no ads and no tracking in Chirp Cards.
We do keep simple daily counts, like how many visits there were, how many games were played and whether people used a phone, tablet or computer. These are totals only. They use no cookies and store no names, accounts, addresses or device ids, so they can’t be traced back to anyone, including students.
Email hello@chirpcards.com and we’ll delete your account and everything in it.
